Context
The Gunpowder Plot- 1605, the Gunpowder Treason Plot or the Jesuit Treason was a fail attempt of assassination against King James I of England and VI of Scotland by Guy Fawkes whose ambition was to blow up every one of the nobility of England.
Shakespeare was inspired by the story of Guy Fawkes that he used the Gunpowder Plot in Macbeth to portray what might happen if the king were to be murdered and his play demonstrated the fear and chaos that the English people would have be experience if this tragedy occurs.
Divine Rights of King- God's chosen one on Earth, the King was the ruler on Earth. If his position was taken away from him, it would cause a huge destruction for the world.
Shakespeare was inspired by the Divine Rights of King that he used it in Macbeth. Macbeth commits the sin of murdering King Duncan. His action is against the Divine Rights of Kings because he killed God's chosen representative on earth.
Shakespearean Tragedy- Macbeth's tragic flaw was his ambition for power. He was a thane, a man who is a chief of a clan and also held land granted by the King. Although, he did not think through the consequences of the horrid deed, killing King Duncan. His deed made him full of guilt and insanity. The greed for power led him to kill more innocent people to protect his power. In the process of fulfilling his ambition, he has isolated his wife, Lady Macbeth, that then led to (as they assume) kill herself. His lack of skills to be a king was frowned upon and everything became worse. Eventually, Macbeth dies.
